The community dimension of La rosa dels set pètals
Opera Prima offers local residents the opportunity to get close to operatic creation first-hand through a project with a strong community mediation dimension, one of its fundamental pillars. This dimension complements artistic creation with work focused on connection, listening, and active presence in neighbourhoods.
Within this framework, the Gran Teatre del Liceu is present in the Sant Andreu district for four years, participating in initiatives of significance for the area and its community, such as cultural and heritage routes, Calidoscopi Cultural, or the Barcelona Dibuixa project, among others. These actions foster direct contact between the Opera Prima team, the Liceu, and local residents, and encourage new forms of collaboration beyond the stage.

LiceuApropa: bringing the Sant Andreu community into the Liceu
Complementarily, LiceuApropa facilitates access to the Liceu for organisations and residents of Sant Andreu through activities designed to introduce them to opera and to the theatre’s internal workings, such as attending performances and dress rehearsals or discovering the different departments.
This line of work connects the cultural interests of the territory with the theatre’s activity and also establishes links with LiceuApren and the district’s educational centres. In this way, Opera Prima acts as a catalyst project that brings together artistic creation, community mediation, education, and participation, strengthening the relationship between the Liceu and the local area.
First volumetric recordings of AMPLIFY at Liceu
A few days ago, Vicomtech, the project leader of AMPLIFY, visited the Liceu to evaluate the process of capturing personal objects and to carry out a first volumetric recording of the testimonies of Maribel Ferrándiz and Àngels Rabadà, former inmates of the Trinitat Vella women’s prison during the Franco regime, with artistic direction by LabOriosa.
Their voices form part of the dramaturgical work of La rosa dels set pètals.
